VB-404 Programming with Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0
Course Description
This course is designed to teach experienced programmers how to create
sophisticated Visual Basic-based applications capable of solving business
problems. Students build advanced applications that access databases, use
OLE to integrate applications, act as an OLE server and as an add-in, use
DLLs, and send mail messages. Students also learn how to add Help to their
applications and create a setup program.
Prerequisites
High-level language and an understanding of standard programming concepts,
such as data types and flow control statements; ability to describe the
events-driven programming models; experience with Visual Basic.

MS-750 Implementing a Database Design on MS SQL Server
Course Description
This course provides students with the technical skills required to implement
a database solution with the Microsoft SQL Server client/server database
management system, based on a case-study design. Lab exercises allow hands-on
implementation of the case-study design
Prerequisites
Understanding of the fundamental concepts of relational database design.
Experience installing SQL Server. Understanding of basic ANSI-SQL statements
Topics
-
Create database devices, databases, user-defined datatypes, and tables
-
Write Transact-SQL statements to query data, manipulate data, and program
the server
-
Identify issues to consider when creating indexes
-
Create views, triggers, and stored procedures
-
Enforce data integrity by creating and implementing constraints, defaults,
and rules
-
Describe how to use cursors to perform row-operations
-
Determine how to distribute data Determine which external components should
be incorporated into a server environment
MS-484 Microsoft Windows Architecture I and II
Course Description
This seminar presents the architectures and related services of the Microsoft
Windows operating systems. Students gain understanding of the framework
required to develop solutions for Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows NT
Prerequisites
Experience developing line-of-business solutions with the Microsoft Visual
Basic programming system. User-level experience with Microsoft Windows
version 3.1, Windows for Workgroups, or Windows NT
Topics
-
Define key architectural constructs of the 32-bit Windows operating system
and explain how constructs are related
-
Define key architectural constructs of OLE and explain how those constructs
are related
